What the provincial framework changes
Québec’s regulation respecting wastewater disposal systems for isolated dwellings is enforced by municipalities. That makes the local municipal permit route part of the regulatory process rather than just an optional check.
The practical result is that a septic decision cannot be separated from the property record. The applicable authority may need a permit, registration, filing, notification, approval or certified professional depending on the province and project.
