What the provincial framework changes
PEI requires licensed septic contractors and installers for installation, reconstruction, modification or decommissioning. Site suitability and development approvals also matter because the province regulates sewage-disposal setbacks.
The practical result is that a septic decision cannot be separated from the property record. The applicable authority may need a permit, registration, filing, notification, approval or certified professional depending on the province and project.
