What the provincial framework changes
Nova Scotia uses certified roles for onsite sewage work and a notification/approval framework tied to its On-site Sewage Disposal Systems Standard. Installation, alteration and related work must follow the provincial process.
The practical result is that a septic decision cannot be separated from the property record. The applicable authority may need a permit, registration, filing, notification, approval or certified professional depending on the province and project.
